My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brooks is a gorgeous male, 1 1/2 yr old Papillon/Corgi mix. There could even be some long haired Dachshund in there. He weighs 22lbs and has short legs and long body covered in gorgeous long, soft fur that is mostly white except for a black head and some black patches on his body.
Brooks and his best friend Garth were abandoned at their home when their owner was evicted. For a month they survived on the generosity of neighbors helping out until rescue stepped in. Both were pretty scared of strangers and would bark when strangers got near. It didn’t take more than a pack of hotdogs to win them over. They adore their foster mom and open up quickly to strangers once they realize no one is trying to hurt them. Brooks loves tummy rubs, sitting on your lap and being pet. He isn’t very fond of cats and did growl at one but didn’t attempt to chase it.
Brooks also enjoys being held and going for rides in a car. Until he gets more comfortable, it’s recommended that he go to a home that is more peaceful with an owner that is around a lot to be his companion. Children would need to be old enough to approach him gently and let him accept you. He really bonds quickly and doesn’t want to be away from you and will softly whine for you. He is so loving and gentle. He needs a forever home/owner that won’t abandon him ever again.
Brooks has been completely vetted including recently neutered and we have him microchipped. His teeth are gorgeous and white. Brooks also did excellent getting a bath. He is special little boy seeking love and commitment.

Adoption fee is $200 (that is all we ever charge despite medical bills being more). The additional $150 goes to an outside transport company that is independent of us and will drive Brooks from Alabama to Maryland. (stop is in Hagerstown, MD)
