My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, everyone! King of the snuggles and irresistible beefcake here. My name is Krackle and I’m a 2-year-old lover-boy who weighs 58 lbs. If you were my human, I would be by your side through everything. Bad day? I’ll be waiting at home to greet you with a kiss. Good day? Let’s go on a walk! I am a friendly, fun, playful guy who is fairly mellow and laid back. I love cuddle time and soaking up all the affection I can. I have the softest fur, so it's very relaxing for both of us, lucky me! You will not meet a better snuggly cuddler than I. I am also fairly goofy. I sleep like a fainting goat or perhaps a cow that's been tipped. I make people laugh and smile all the time. I will do anything for a good belly rub or booty scratch. Hit the right spot and I'll purr like a cat. I even purr myself to sleep sometimes. I love toys, all of them and every kind of them, and in my foster home I decided the small cat bed would be my toy box, so I collect my toys from around the house and put them in my cat bed toy box. The humans think it's the cutest thing; meanwhile, I just like to be organized. I ride well in the car and I like to lounge in the sun. I am told I’m a very good boy because I go potty outside and enjoy chilling on the couch chewing my bone right next to you. I even know sit and I walk well on a leash! I love my new foster home, but I am looking for my forever home. So please let me be your new best friend. You'll be so glad you did and you'll wonder what you ever did without me. All adoption fees for adult dogs and cats are just $17.76 through July 7. Regular Adoption fee: $75. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, 30 days of free pet insurance, one session with a certified behavior trainer and microchip.

Adoption and Foster Care Application

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Why is labeling a dog such a big deal? A label will stick with a dog for the rest of its life. A label can mean discrimination, losing its home or even death. Labels are a problem for the dogs when we, as the local experts on animals, allow adopters, politicians and community members to think that the label we assign can predict who that dog is or will be.

Examples:

Adoption Process:
Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
