Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Prada, she along with her friend Stevie, were just two of the 700 dogs rescued from a puppy mill operation in Nashville, Georgia. These two girls had been living their whole lives tiny crates stacked on top of another. They were matted, covered in feces and did not even know how to be dogs, just puppy birthing machines. After Prada was given a full medical examination she was found to be severely underweight and required 3 feedings a day to get her to a healthy weight before she could be spayed; which since has been done. She also never had regular access to water so she would constantly drink out of fear that she would not know when she would have access to water again. This required us filling large pans with water constantly until she learned that she would have regular access to water, this also applied to food. But, after a few weeks, she gradually learned that she would be cared for and loved. Prada had a lot to learn such as how to interact with other dogs, walk up and down stairs, what a leash was and that it would not hurt her. As time has gone on she has learned these things along with others such as not defecating in her living space or that she would not be constantly confined to that space, but that she would spend scheduled time outdoors and only sleep in her living space. She will now come and go to her living space on command as she knows she will not be trapped there. Now that Prada has had time to decompress from her horrific experience we have found her to be a sweet and loving girl and would do fine in a home with other dogs, cats are at this time an unknown as are small children, but from what I have observed of her character I feel that she would do well, as she is very docile. In the time she has been with us has proven to be a very intelligent girl and just needs a loving patient family to fully housebreak her and let her be a part of their family. Note: although she is likes being outside, all ASF dogs are required to be indoor dogs. She is also afraid of loud noises like thunder or gunfire and is also afraid of the dark. She is such a sweet and delicate little girl. A thunder shirt or calming treats many help her. We as fosters have to take the first and hardest steps in giving Prada a new life, now we need someone to adopt her and give her a fur-ever home.
