This goofy, handsome boy is Loki! He was found as a stray in Manhattan, enjoying the spring weather on the streets. Unfortunately, he was unable to be reunited with his family after he was brought to the shelter, so they reached out to us to find him a perfect home.
We think Loki is mix of Pit/Hound/Great Dane, although he is definitely smaller than an average Dane. He is in a foster home with three other dogs, and he loves all of them! He seems to like every dog he meets, he even welcomed two mini dachshunds into his crate when they were visiting. He also ADORES "Kongs" and any other type of hard rubber toy. He carries them around all day until he falls asleep! He also chases his tail and then falls over trying to catch it. He is so cute and funny, and he make his foster family laugh every day.
Loki know his basic commands but definitely needs work on jumping up on people. He is quite strong and he thinks he is still a puppy! He loves people and would be a great family dog. He would do best in a home without small children due to his exuberance. He is playful, walks wonderfully on a leash, and thinks he is a lap dog. He loves to snuggle with his foster family and sleep with them in their bed (a king sized bed is a must, unless you don’t mind your head being used a pillow).
Loki is about 2 years old and weighs 60 pounds, but since he is a bit skinny his ideal weight should be about 65 pounds. He is up to date on all his shots, neutered, heart worm negative, and micro-chipped. He is a gorgeous, loving dog that will be a true friend and perfect family member!
To adopt or meet Loki, fill out our online dog application on our website (www.sheltersurvivors.com) or download our Microsoft Word dog application and return it to sheltersurvivors@live.com. It will help expedite the process.
