Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is a courtesy listing only for Katy & Maggie. This Doxie is NOT at Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. For information, please contact his current caretaker, Teresa at: (541) 913-7838. OR E-mail: herrerat0313@gmail.com
Meet Katy & Maggie -
Katy is a 16 year old, short hair, 17 lb. red/tan doxie. Maggie is a 10 year old black & tan, 13 lb. short hair doxie. Katy is a healthy senior but does have some lipomas on her chest & back, and should be on a grain-free diet. They are spayed and up to date on vaccines, and they take glucosamine daily. Maggie is blind, but otherwise healthy, although she may need some dental work/extractions, and the owner is willing to get her dental work done prior to adoption. These 2 little girls are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They should be in a home without other dogs, Katy is an alpha female and may act aggressively toward other female dogs. They do get along great with their current owners 2 cats. They may be nervous around kids at first, but they usually do well with patient/gentle kids. They travel well in the car, know basic commands, and are leash & potty trained. These sweet doxies love to burrow under blankets and sit on your lap. Katy & Maggie really enjoy sunbathing and exploring outside. Maggie likes to be indoors more often, and Katy prefers the outdoors and going for walks. Katy is very smart and will even "sit pretty" to get a treat! She will occasionally get spurts of energy and race around the house! She absolutely loves people, and cares for/nurtures her owners and her sister Maggie. Maggie is a super sweet, kind, gentle, and loving little princess! These 2 doxies are very close and care for eachother and cuddle together, their love is contagious! These sweet seniors have many more years of love to give, they just need a chance at their perfect forever home! For more info please contact their current owner directly.
Unfortunately, ODR, Inc. is over-full and cannot take this little Doxie in. If you or anyone you know can help, please share this email or contact their current caretaker, Teresa at: (541) 913-7838. OR E-mail: herrerat0313@gmail.com

ODR, INC. ADOPTION CRITERIA (aka Our Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria for dogs that we adopt and that we recommend to owners whose doxies we list courtesy posts for, the sole aim of which is to facilitate a successful adoption with a forever family.
*Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time?
*Have a securely fenced yard?
*We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and *Children need to be 12 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie).
*We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc). *Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog.
Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these or similar issues.
Thank you!
