MEET Lisbet -
Lisbet is a 7.5 year old, black & tan, short hair doxie. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and scheduled for a full dental including extractions. She will do best in a home without other dogs and young kids, but will do good with kids over 12, and even likes most cats! She could use some work on leash training and enjoys playing in her securely fenced yard! Lisbet can be mischievous so its important to keep things picked up off the floor of the house and yard. Due to her elderly owner being moved to assisted living Lisbet must find a new forever home ASAP! She loves being doted upon and get lots of cuddles & kisses! She is such a special little sweetheart! If you can give Lisbet the loving forever home that she soooo deserves please fill out an application today!
Lisbet will do best in a family with a stay at home parent (work from home or retired) and only older children (over age 12), who are familiar with the special needs of Dachshunds.
Like all Dachshunds, Lisbet is high energy and enjoys playing and warming her little bones in the sunshine, so along with regular walks around her neighborhood, Lisbet needs a secure fenced yard to run around and explore safely. While small in stature, doxies are big on personality and don't generally do well in apartments, with all of the noises and traffic that come with multiple dwellings in a confined space. To best set up our doxies and their new families for success, ODR, Inc., adopt to families who live in single family homes with secure fenced yards.
OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 12 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc). Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $295, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
