My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My foster mom calls me Boomerang, or Boomer, or Boo. I was living on the street and very lonely before I found my foster mom. She let me sit on her lap, so I followed her home. I’m so happy to be indoors and near humans again!

My favorite thing is my “turbo scratcher” toy, and my favorite place to be is in the window or on a nice cozy lap. I like to watch people, birds, and other cats from my window perch. Sometimes, if I see someone I know walking by, I will say hello to them. I love saying hello.

I have lived with a few other foster cats. At first I didn’t like them, but they have grown on me and we’ve played together.

My foster mom took me to a doctor, who said I was negative for everything, and also “fixed,” whatever that means. I got all my vaccines and a microchip.

I really love being on laps. I join my foster mom at her work desk for a few minutes every day. She says she can’t type and pet me at the same time, but I don’t know what typing is and I don’t see the problem. At night we cuddle in the living room. My foster mom puts her feet up so I can stretch across her whole legs, which is easy to do because I am so big, and I lie there and purr for hours. My foster mom says I am a nice lap warmer.

My foster mom goes to bed first. Sometimes I sit on the dresser above her and and snooze a little, but I always join her in bed after she’s gone to sleep. I like to curl up with my back right up against hers. That way we can be close but she can still sleep. I love it so much that sometimes I don’t even want to get out of bed in the morning!

I have a busy schedule, full of playing with my toys, grooming myself, napping in several places, exploring, window-sitting, rolling around on the floor, and eating. I follow my foster mom all around because I love to be in the same room with her. I even let her pick me up and hold me like a human baby— for a few minutes anyway. I love people, but I am also independent and like playing by myself. Sometimes it takes me a couple meetings before I know that I can trust a new person, but I always warm up—especially if that person has a lap for me to stretch out on.

My foster mom says I am the best cat. I would love to meet the best person to take me home!
