My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet AUBREY!

This 3.5 month old, appx 25 lb girl is the last puppy of a litter of eight who came into rescue as medical orphans when they were 2.5 weeks old. All her siblings have found their forever homes and Aubrey is ready to meet her forever family NOW!

Aubrey has beautiful white fur with honey colored markings down her back. She will be probably be medium/large sized (50-75 lbs) when she is fully grown. She has a fairly laid back personality and is friendly, playful and sweet.

Aubrey is effectively potty trained. She will need some specific direction in her new home, i.e., regular potty breaks to include consistently going out the same door to the same location. She is crate trained and sleeping through the night (appx 8 hours) in the crate with no protests. She also goes into the crate willingly (with the promise of a chew treat...:) for an afternoon nap. She loves to play inside and outside with toys and then lay with her head in your lap as you rub her soft ears. She is already leash walking a mile plus every day and will be a great running/hiking buddy when she is older. Daily exercise is a MUST!

Aubrey's ideal adopter is dog experienced and has a stay at home/work from home/take to work schedule in order to continue her training (she is already learning the basic commands) and all-important socialization (she never met a human stranger and love all dogs she meets too!) In terms of schedules, she should not be crated alone for more than four hours during the day. She would thrive in a home with one (or more!) playful adult dogs who can welcome her to the pack, show her the ropes and give her gentle correction. Because of her size and typical puppy behaviors, we are not able to consider families with children under six years of age.

Aubrey is healthy and up to date on all vaccines and preventatives. Her spay is the responsibility of the adopter and by Virginia law must be performed by six months of age. She does have rear dew claws that will need to be removed at the time of her spay...this is a simple procedure that is done while she is already under anesthesia for the spay.

Please note that Aubrey's adoption fee is $325.

***Regarding Aubrey's breed mix***
Because we do not know for certain about Aubrey's parentage, her breed mix is our best guess based on many years of identifying mixed breed dogs. Her precise breed mix is unknown. We can make no absolute guarantees as to appearance or size when she is fully grown.
