Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FRANKIE is a 6-month-old neutered male black lab. Frankie weighs 38 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
DESCRIPTION Frankie is such a cute puppy. He is very floppy and has't gotten the hang his long legs yet. He ride beautifully in the car, but he was a little car sick - not sure whether it was nerves or motion-sickness. He gets along well with his foster's dog, but is too interested in cats (TBD on small dogs). Frankie LOVES plush squeaky toys and will carry one around with him for hours. He walks well on the leash but barks excitedly when he sees other dogs. He was good for his bath. From what we were told about Frankie, he, and 3 other dogs, were given to the grandfather of the original owner. The grandfather was keeping them tied outside and finally decided he did not want them and turned them in to the shelter. He is good with other dogs. From transporters and Vets office. What a sweet boy and so adorable.
Update: Frankie is settling in well with his foster. He is doing great with potty training. He is working on sit and seems to being getting the hang of it when focused:). He walks nicely on a leash and rides wonderfully in the car (no car sickness since the first two days he was was with his foster). His favorite thing to do is run around the yard with his squeaky toys and play tug of war with our resident lab.
Update: Frankie is a sweetie and continues to cooperate with his training. He does well with potty training with rare accidents. He walks well on the leash although he gets a little excited when he sees another animal! He knows sit if you have a treat in your hand. He rides beautiful in the car and sleeps through the night in his crate. He is learning house manners and knows he is not supposed to jump on the counter; as long as there is no yummy-smelling food left unattended, he stays off. Tonight he came looking for attention and even fell asleep on his foster's lap. Heart melting:) Frankie continues to enjoy life with his foster family. Look at the joy he has while playing! https://youtu.be/DnM3ciIcoMY
Update: Frankie doesn't understand why no one has adopted him yet. How could you not fall in love with his cute, scruffy face?? Frankie continues to grow both physically and mentally. He's doing really well learning manners in the house and is a lot faster at settling down after play. It took him a little time to warm up, but now that he's comfortable he has become a great snuggler with both people and dogs! He snuggled in tight with his foster for a nap this morning:) Noisy things like cars, trucks and lawn mowers do not seem to bother him. Frankie is a great mix of active and snuggly.
