Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DAWN is a 7-year-old spayed female black lab. Dawn weighs 54 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
DESCRIPTION Dawn is a sweetheart of a dog. She loves everyone she meets to include both people and other dogs. Although she plays well with other dogs, she'd rather play with her people. Dawn will keep herself occupied by playing with her toys and has yet to destroy a stuff animal. She will chase a toy, but hasn't got the hang of bringing it back. Dawn needs a home that can provide the love and attention she so deserves. Dawn knows sit, down, come and is easy on a leash. She seems to be housetrained as she is keeping her kennel clean. Dawn was a stray to the shelter.
Update: Dawn went for a long drive on her way to her foster home. She was very well mannered in the car. Dawn demonstrated her kisses for everyone she met. She would jump up to dispense the kisses and the humans couldn't help but reward the behavior. Bad humans! She took treats very gently! She was excited and wandered on leash but will likely improve as she settles into a new routine. Dawn is a very sweet girl. She loves people and wants to be wherever her person is, including sleeping on the bed. She is a little bossy with her foster dog sibling. She resource guards a bit with the dog, but is fine around her foster. Dawn is crate- and house-trained, with no issue being gated loose in a spare room during the workday. She did cower a bit when released from the bedroom so she may need some time to learn that she is in a safe place. She is not bothered by traffic or people, and did not bark back at a small dog that barked at her during a walk. She pulls a bit on the leash and will need some training. She knows sit and comes when you call her (most of the time).
