Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Milton is affectionately known as the Bug-Bug! He answers to both, is crate trained, housebroken, easy on walk and loves all people! He is a typical Shih Tzu with a large personality way beyond his size. He loves anything plush and squeaky. Bug-Bug wants nothing more than to cuddle with you all day in your lap while holding his favorite squeaky toys. He carries his toys around like they are his babies!
Sounds perfect right? Milton came to us with untreated hypothyroid which left his organs in terrible shape. Thru diet and supplements, we have brought his levels down to normal. He will need to stay on his home cook diet and probably a liver supplement. His hypothyroidism is perfectly controlled with daily medication that is inexpensive. His behavior is effected by his condition. He can be moody, intolerant to grooming around his face and intolerant with other dogs, especially in his personal space. While he does currently live with other dogs, their relationships are very managed. We feel it would be best for him to be an only dog. We have not seen his behavior with cats, but feel an aloof cat could be fine. Due to his medical and grooming needs, we would like for Milton to stay in the South Jersey area so we can continue to help with his grooming. We also suggest that he stay with his current holistic integrative Veterinarian, but that is not a deal breaker. Please understand that he will need more medical care than the average dog.
Despite Milton's medically induced flaws he is a very sweet and loving little man that deserves a loving lap, the best food a mommy could make and a basket filled with toys.
