Our dog was given to us by an extended relative as an older puppy. Our family already has one Pomeranian dog and our children enjoy Mia. For less than a year Mia has been in our home. The children have played with the dog without issue, however Mia is much more instinctual than our Pomeranian. Mia is very playful and enjoys chasing and having items thrown at her for retrieving. Her prey instinct is very high. She buries food, jumps at other animals (not dogs), and is constantly marking her territory. Mia was housebroken when we received her, but has regressed. Mostly the concern is that Mia is now pinning down the Pomeranian and fighting. This is difficult because the Pom is a mich older dog and becoming frail, so it is becoming a risk for both of them.
