Posted 4/5/2019. Super cute and very friendly little Elvis came to us from a local shelter where he ended up after a puppy mill seizure. All his buddies were adopted but sadly, no one was interested in Elvis because he is older. Poor Elvis lived in a filthy cage all his life and his sole purpose was to produce puppies for pet stores! That is history now and after working with him for several weeks, we feel that he is now ready for a new loving forever home. Elvis is still a bit shy and he can get easily startled as he had never been exposed to a "normal life". It is important that he goes to a home with people who understand his needs for a rather calm environment (no small children, no rowdy pups). He is still scared of loud noises or running feet. Elvis LOVES his humans, he likes playing with them as well as with gentle smaller dogs, and even kitties! Elvis would love to have another dog about his size to play and cuddle with, and he adores going for walks. His crate is his castle and he feels safe and secure in it when he gets overwhelmed. His foster parents have worked on his house manners and he is house trained on #2 (he gives plenty of notice when he has to go). It is best to put a belly band on him when he is home alone or during night time to avoid accidents. He is still learning... :). For Elvis we are looking for a home with people who understand his needs, who can give him unconditional love and all the cuddles he needs and desires. Overall, Elvis is in great shape: he is current on vaccinations, he is neutered, he had a dental (he is missing some teeth now) and he is current on heartworm/flea prevention.
