Hello my name is Mei. I am about 3 years old, and a very tiny girl (around 7 lbs). I am, as my foster mom puts it, “an absolute doll!” She tells me ALL of the time how I am welcome with her as long as I want to be there, because she loves me so much, but she said I am too special to live with her and the others forever (being a foster mom, she has quite a few of course), and that I deserve a family of my own. I have tried to find a family that would love me in Houston for over 2 years now. People always say I am sweet, but it is almost impossible for an adult kitty like me to find a GOOD home here. So many people here already have too many, or they don’t love us kitties so much. A few of my friends have found homes in your area, so I decided I would look for my forever family there too! I will stay with my foster mom in Houston until you find me, then I will get there as fast as I possibly can!! The rescue will pay for my flight so they do look for cost effective choices, but usually they can find one within a few weeks. Anyways, back to telling you about me… I looove to explore anything new and different that I come across!!! I also LOVE to snuggle, especially at night! By my eyes and face shape, and curious nature, we think I may have a bit of siamese in my background. I didn’t inherit my father’s long hair (he is a Maine Coon kitty... the rescue can show pictures if you want)… but, I did get his pretty green eyes! I know not as many people like my short hair as much as the long hair, but I think my coat has a very pretty pattern to it! I also like to talk to you and have conversations sometimes. I am quiet much of the time, but, catch me in the right mood, and we can have a fun conversation with each other. I am not too picky food wise. I am trying, of course, to live as long as possible, so I do want to stay on grain free food (my doctor says grain isn’t good for us kitty cats). Sooo, the only thing my foster mom said I should warn people about (so that I stay safe and healthy and live a long time like I want to), is tha….t because I am so small and curious, I am a little bit of a flight risk. I wouldn’t ever want to get away from anyone on purpose, I just kind of get sooo curious about stuff, can fit through small places, and am quiet enough that if you leave a door open too long, etc, I may try to see what is past it, and then be lost. Once I settle, this risk will decrease and you will be able to gauge, but this is the only reason the rescue isn’t listing me as good with children. I’d be fine with older ones that would know to watch very carefully so I don’t sneak out past them.
