Dutch Bio: Dutch is approximately 1-2 year old pit bull terrier, who came to Adopt A Homeless Animal (AAHA) rescue via a more convoluted route. Dutch was being fostered through another rescue and over time his fosters began to feel they were having trouble managing him with their other dog. They felt overwhelmed, so they asked AAHA to help (when they were unable to reach anyone from their rescue). The original fosters and rescue have since relinquished him to our care, as a result, we have been boarding Dutch with the hopes of finding him a foster home. Dutch has now been boarded for several weeks, and although boarding is less then ideal for any dog, he is especially not meant for kennel life, and is truly suffering the effects of this type of life. Therefore, we are desperately searching for a fur-ever home, or foster, willing to take him in. Dutch is a sweet and affectionate boy, but does need someone who knows how to manage and handle an active, energetic young pit bull, and someone who would be able to work on basic training with him. Dutch does know how to sit, and he is affectionate, but he has never had the opportunity to be properly trained and handled, so teaching him basic skills would be greatly important. Although he has already been altered, we think it would be ideal if he were either the only dog in the house, or alternatively only a female dog in the house, as he is a boisterous pup. Please help us find a home for him as kennel life is especially not suiting him, and he will be sure to reward you! AAHA is willing to pay for training sessions for him, to help ensure a successful match!
