Hi! I'm Kevin! I am a big teddy bear, and as you may have noticed, I have an awesome soft face and muzzle that makes everyone go crazy! I have been hoping to be in a home for a while now, and with all that time waiting, believe it or not, I have actually become a shy pup! I know, who would think a pup like me would be shy? I have been living in a kennel for a while now, so I haven't had the opportunity to explore and try new things....so I am a little timid about things at first, hence the big teddy bear!! But don't worry, once I do figure things out, I do come along quite well though... for example... I have figured out that I love car rides-- so I am ready for those anytime! I also recently got to experience my first belly rub not too long ago-- and that was great too! These are great and I love them!! So, I am open to new experiences, but I need someone with a little patience with me, as I get a chance to get settled and figure new things out.... its neat when I do, because then I wag my tail and get excited and happy! I recently went to the vet for a check up and I not only got to ride in a car-- which was great, but I met a bunch of new people there and they all complimented me on how handsome and sweet I was, so I know I am worth a chance at a home! I have to be honest, I haven't had a lot of occasions to be happy in my life. I was found in an abandoned home nearing death, but I was lucky enough to have Good Samaritans rescue me, and save my life. That was a really happy, and lucky, day for me. A few more things about me: They think I am about 4-5 years old, so I am in no rush when it comes to walks, I like to stop and smell the flowers-- if you know what I mean. Being middle aged has its advantages... I don't see the point of racing around! Being calm and laid back has other perks with it too-- I have been given quite a few compliments on my leash manners, and been told I am a pleasure to handle and walk. One of the best features about me too is that I am a really affectionate pup and love to give kisses, or should I say licks. I love to be with people who like me, and I am always secretly hoping someone will want to stay with me longer, and maybe take me home too.... I cannot say that I have had a lot of love and affection in my life, so it is a really nice feeling and that's why I love being with people who are nice to me!! Oh, and I love to snuggle too since I don't really get much of this either at the kennel, so this is really special to me too! In my time at the kennel I have become good friends with a few girl dogs, in fact one of them was actually my best friend, until she was adopted, which has made me a little sad and lonely. But the good news is that I am on the look out for a new companion and friend, whether it be a human or a human & pup -- both of these would be a great bonus for me! ... I could make a good addition to a home already with a girl pup looking for a pup boy companion!! I have been living in a kennel a really long time, and because of this I am really hoping to find a place called home soon!! Will you be the one to give me a home? That would be a dream come true for me! The Adopt-A-Pet system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each dog based on personality, not breed label.
