Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This handsome boy has so much going on for him. He's well behaved, knows his manners, active outside and quiet inside. He has a friendly demeanour that constantly draws people to pet him - and he just soaks up the loving. He's been great with the neighbourhood kids and indifferent to other dogs whether big or small.
However, Hudson does NOT like deer! He's currently living on Vancouver Island in an area with a huge deer population and he can not be trusted around them as he has fatally injured deer. Because deer in the area will come onto peoples properties and right up to houses, it’s very difficult to safely limit these interactions where he is. As heartbreaking as it is, Hudson needs a home out of this deer infested area, or he risks euthanasia via bylaw authorities should another encounter occur.
He's very happy at home and in his yard, and doesn’t try to escape or wander. Issues have arisen when gates weren’t secured and he could easily walk our and be distracted by wildlife. His home will have to be diligent in management and security, but it’s easy because Hudson wants to be at home. We are thinking ideally of a home in the city where he can get plenty of excerise without off leash runs in the woods.
He appears to be a Golden Retriever with something else mixed in there. He's neutered, about 4 years old, young adult, very healthy, and will have updated vaccines before adoption.
Please complete an adoption application if you think you can provide a good home and keep him safe. We'd prefer he found a home in the lower mainland.
