My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What's your name? I am Scrambles!!

How old are you? I think about 5 years old. (a/0 August 2020)

Are you a boy or a girl? I’m a boy.

Do you know where your family came from (Breed question)? Foster mom submitted my DNA and found out I am 75% American Staffordshire, 12.5% Bulldog and 12.5% Neapolitan Mastiff. No wonder I’m so good lookin’!

How much do you weigh? 45lbs

What do you look like? I am a handsome guy! I have honey colored fur with very distinguishing white patches. And you may have noticed my awesome ear.

What do you like to eat? Chicken Soup for the Soul. I also love peanut butter Kongs and treats!

What kind of personality do you have? I’m a pretty chill dude; my favorite past time is sunbathing. Oh, and I love to go for walks and meeting people.

Describe your perfect day? My perfect day would include laying out and catching some rays, and then going for a walk around the neighborhood. And then hanging with my family.

What is your favorite toy? I am partial to the Nerf Tuff Tug X-Ring. It’s a ball with stuffing, it doesn’t get any better than that.

Do you know any tricks? Does sit count?!

What scares you? The VACUUM, power washers and the lawn mower.

Have you ever been around children? Yes, I have! I live with two 9 year olds and sometimes the neighbor kids come over to play. I do great with kids 7 and older.

How do you feel about other dogs? I love dogs! My foster fur brother, Valentino, is my bestest friend! We love to chase each other and play tug of war with stuffies. I also have an awesome foster fur sister who loves to just hang out with me and sunbathe.

Do you like cats? I haven’t been introduced to a cat in my foster home, so not sure. I see cats sometimes when I go for walks, but I don’t pay them any attention.

If you could be anywhere in the world where would it be? I would be chilling with my forever family and playing with a forever fur brother/sister.

How is your health? I’m a pretty healthy guy. I have some minor allergies that is treated with medication. I also have a neurological thing going on with my brain, but it doesn’t limit me physically.

Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion? I live with my foster mom-person, foster dad-person, two 9 year old-persons, and 3 resident mutts. I’m closest to my foster mom-person and my crazy foster fur brother, Valentino.

Where do you hang out when you are home alone? In my crate.

Where do you sleep? In my crate.

Do you like walking on a leash? I am pretty perfect on leash if I do say so myself. And I love going for walks.

Do you have any not so great habits? Sometimes I bark/howl for a hot minute. BUT it’s because I have bionic hearing. I mean it’s not exactly a bad habit, it’s just a special thing I do.

Are you house trained? Of course! I do my business outside.

Do you like water? Yes, I do! I have been to the lake and I jumped right in! And sometimes I like to sit on the top step of the pool.

What do you love about your foster family? They show me love and make me feel safe.

What was your life like before being brought into Norcal Bully Breed Rescue? I was at a shelter and the staff there really liked me so they worked hard to get me into a rescue that took medical cases.

⭐️Scrambles ADOPTION DONATION IS $200.00⭐️

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread throughout the Sacramento area.
We require our adopters to be within a 50 mile radius of us.
This is because we need to do a physical yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed.
(*FaceTime or Skype are NOT acceptable methods of communication regarding yard checks.)

We HAVE made exceptions for dogs that have been with us long term, and for senior dogs. We would still need to perform a yard check, and would be happy to do so for a dog that has been passed over repeatedly, but not for dogs that are in high demand.
It would need to be to a neighboring state to California. NOT across the country. That would be too much.
(*We will NOT be making this exception for puppies or designer breed dogs, so please don’t ask. It’s way too much for us to have to request time off of work and lose pay to drive a dog out of area when we have plenty of great homes in our area wanting to adopt these dogs.)

We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks.

Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog.

Our adoption fees are based on the dog and typically range from $300-$500. Adult dogs are generally $300 and puppies are generally $500.

In the case of designer breed dogs, like French Bulldogs and English Bulldogs, the adoption fee will be significantly higher in order to offset the costs associated with their surgeries, or associated with their demand.

In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Interested in meeting this dog or another one of our available dogs? Simply complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will generally respond to you within 3-5 days. Once a yard check is completed and you’ve passed the adoption process, you’re welcome to meet any of our dogs!!!
If you do not hear from us in 3-5 days, that dog has been adopted or has adoption pending. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of emails we receive for each dog, we are no longer able to personally respond to each one.
Thanks so much in advance for understanding!!

Again, thanks so much for your interest, and we hope we are able to match you up with your next family member!!!
