Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kiera is a darling female Shih Tzu with lots of love to give. Born 03/03/2009; she has a slightly curly black non-shedding coat with white highlights around her face and down her chest. Kiera weighs 18 pounds, she is not fat just very solid. From puppy hood, Kiera brought sunshine and purpose into the life of a lady who loved her dearly and gladly cared for her every need (we have medical records 2017 to present). Sadly, when her special person died no one wanted little Kiera and she was turned over to an MS kill shelter. Kiera arrived by transport at the Safehouse on 02/04/2019. Kiera came from a loving home and it shows in her behavior and manners. She is a lovable, quiet, friendly, well-mannered, house trained, leash trained family pet. She can romp like a puppy but not all the time; no couch potato lap dog, Kiera will need a home with daily walks but she loves nap time too!! When it comes to choosing a dog companion, many potential adopters don't realize how great older dogs are. The gratitude and instant unconditional love you get from an older rescued dog is immeasurable by the clock or the calendar. Currently being treated (VCA Aurora Specialty Animal Hospital, Dr. Matousek, dermatology) for a bacterial ear infection. She does have additional health issues that we are also addressing (bladder stones, dry eye, possible allergies). Kiera is looking for simple accommodations, a quiet adult home with a cozy bed, fuzzy squeak toys, a warm sun spot for napping (pillow optional), a lap to snuggle in and loving arms to hold her and let her know she is once again safe and secure. If you are looking for an instant companion, who can settle right in, leave you time for yourself and let you get a good night’s sleep, come meet Kiera. She is awesome and we think it will be love at first sight. Kiera is spayed, has a microchip, is current on all vaccines, 3 year rabies, heartworm and flea/tick preventative, and has had a complete physical and dental. Her adoption fee is $300. (Kiera is eligible for our Senior to Senior discount.) (Updated 02/26/2020)
