My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Barney was surrendered by his owner to the local shelter and it was clear he was in tough shape, he was a hot mess when we met him. His paperwork said “toy poodle” but with the mess of matted fur he did not resemble a poodle in anyway. It took most of the day, but our amazing intern was able to reveal the toy poodle underneath. Barney is an older guy, estimated to be about 10. He had few teeth left and the remaining ones were painful and rotten, so out they went. He was diagnosed with stage 2 renal failure, which sounds scary but with proper diet the vet said he should have a normal happy life span. Despite all he’s been through he still wags that little tail and it will turn your heart to mush. He is such a sweet distinguished gentleman who adores to be held and will fall asleep in your arms. He’s hoping his future family gets a baby sling so he can be snuggled up all day every day. He thinks other dogs are great, he enjoys the sunshine and big comfy beds. Barney may be older but he is so deserving of a home surrounded by love and safety for his retirement years. Barney is a 10-year-old toy poodle who is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. If you can give Barney the life and home, he so deserves he would absolutely love to meet you
