Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Moose arrived on March 23rd. This sweet boy is 39 pounds at 8 months of age. He lost his prior home because the cat in that home did not want to be around a dog. Despite the fact that he is SO GOOD with cats.
Moose has been adjusting to our home. So far, he has proven to get along with other dogs, and is very good with with our cats. He LOVES people of all shapes and sizes! He is a friendly dog!
UPDATE: He is crate trained. No accidents in the crate. He loves affection, and wants nothing more than to bond to humans. He is very affectionate and loving. He responds when asked to sit and leave it. Today, he went for a hike and enjoyed exploring. At home he likes to have some cuddle time.
UPDATE: This is a great boy! He is excellent on leash. Focused on us, gives eye contact, and heels appropriately. He is a good boy. We are very comfortable taking him on leash walks because he is a pleasure.
He is a younger dog, but his energy goes in spurts. When he is excited, he wants to play but he does not run around the house like a crazy dog. No zoomies with this one. He is good, he plays, then snuggles.
With cats, NO WORRIES! He is non-reactive. Our cats walk around him, and he does not care. He does not chase nor is he in inappropriate with them in anyway. If you have a dog friendly cat, things would be just fine. Speaking about being non-reactive, he also does not react much when our dog is barking. He just lays there and waits to see what is going on. Good boy!
This boy just LOVES people. He wants to be with you, near you, interact with you, play with you or snuggle right up with you. He is very people focused and simply wants to please. He thrives on having your approval. When working with training, he will take treats, but praise goes a long way with him. He just loves to know he is doing things right.
He had an accident the very first night in our home. I had walked him, but he did not go. The stress of the ride and changes may have made him nervous. Since then, he has been accident free on a good schedule.
He has not chewed anything in our home. The only thing he chews is the bones and chew toys we have provided for him. He does want our people food, but we are stopping him from begging for it. He is interested but he is learning our house rules about dogs near the table.
At night, he is sleeping on a dog bed in our room. He does not have to be crated, we just baby gate the door and sleep the night away. He has not jumped on us while sleeping nor has he even tried to jump the gate to leave the room. He is quiet and sleeps. We do crate him when we leave the home. When we do, he puts up a fuss. We simply leave and he does stop once we are outside. He wants to come with us but has learned that when in there, he must stay. He is quiet in a few minutes. If your still in the home, he will continue the fussing.
He does sit when asked. We ask him to sit prior to touching him and he complies. Good boy. Sitting gets him the love and attention he wants so he is willing to do for us before we do for him. GOOD BOY!
Overall, this is an AWESOME dog! He would be fine in a home with or without dogs, with or without cats. He just wants people to be there to love him.
