Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com
***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!***
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to come look at a dog.
We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.
We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Renton, WA.
Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to cover medical bills. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase QuickPay, PayPal, or cash.
Winter 13.6 lbs, male, possibly a poodle 2 years old, neutered up to date on shots, microchipped, heart worm negative, dewormed & needs tylson powder for life possibly.
Here we go again another horrific story of a sweetheart being thrown away like his life didn’t matter.
Mr Winter ended up in a city shelter in Korea, his time had run & was about to lose his life before the wonderful Korean rescue saved him. Winter would bark to get someones attention just to notice him & one of the ladies from the Korean Rescue paid attention to his barks as she knew he just wanted to be saved. We were asked could we help this little man & here we are looking to find his new loving forever home.
Both foster families from CA & WA both said he was such a love & good boy. When he did first arrive Winter had the runs badly for quite some & we kept taking him back to the vets to try to resolve this, we did x-rays, ultrasounds, blood work, other testing, specific medications & diets but it was determined nothing was wrong with Winter & he just had a sensitive GI tract & he would need Tylson powder every day twice a day added to his food to help him stay solid & he is doing well now.
When we first got this little man, he was so very skinny, he needed to put on quite a bit of weight which his foster mum accomplished. This little man is a bouncy fellow with lots of energy & love to share. He loves, loves loves other dogs so it’s mandatory he go to a forever home with other dogs present in the home. He has lots of energy to play & run around & loves to play with his foster siblings so Winter would need a forever home with another friend or even friends in the home. Be sure to have a huge toy basket for Winter as since he come to the US he has discovered his love of toys in both foster homes & enjoys playing with socks. Winter does enjoy a good cuddle to but he is very wiggly little fellow but does enjoy being cuddled & does enjoy a good ride in the car.
Winter has been around many breeds of dogs & he is currently fostered with foster siblings & does absolutely wonderful with them & does need a playmate or even a couple of friends in the home as he does enjoy doggy friendship so this is mandatory but also loves to snuggle on the couch with you after he has released his energy from playing.
Winter is roughly 13.6 lbs & 2 years old. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his shots, heart worm negative & dewormed & will need to be on tylson powder maybe for life but that could change that requires 1/4 teaspoon with his meals morning & night. The cost for it is roughly $22 for a years supply.
Winter has been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have had him around children but not small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their own children & cats before adopting one of our rescues.
We do not know for sure what breed Winter is mixed with & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is.
As with all of our rescues & Winter’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Winter potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.
We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Winter & going through the process and have read his listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Winter who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this adorable little fellow.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
Winter has an adoption fee of $785 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
