My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Just like the lyrics of Darlin' Companion, Johnny & June are a sweet bonded pair - loving and loyal are just two words to describe them. By each other's constant side, they endured a not so kind past where living outside, excluded & isolated is now a distant memory from when they were surrendered and into our loving foster home where warmth, gentleness and belonging has given them unconditional love.

Darling Johnny (Dachshund Pug X), 8 years old, weighs approximately 12 pounds, is an adventurous, brave boy and is the leader of the two. He is playful, fun, affectionate and loves to be the center of attention. Johnny is on a very inexpensive medicine (under $20 a month) twice daily for a heart murmur. He has a very sweet disposition, tail always wags and loves his cuddles!

Adorable June (Silky Terrier), 8 years old, weighs about 9 pounds and is the quieter of the two but her soulful curious eyes just look right into your heart. She is much more timid around men. She does an adorable little dance when she gets excited and is the sweetest little girl! She is Johnny's loyal companion and follows him faithfully. June is a love bug, sweet as sugar, happy go lucky and relishes in the affection given to her by her humans. Both are very laid back, not barkers and once bonded to their human(s), loyal and trusting. They would enjoy a quieter home that could give them the love and devotion they deserve.

Both dogs are doing great with potty training, though Johnny wears a belly band since he was never properly trained but now that he is neutered, continued positive training is required. Both are crate trained and enjoy having their safe space that is their own. They are curious about other dogs and approach cautiously as they are still learning to play. Johnny & June currently live with two of their foster dogs and get along wonderfully so having another dog companion that is easy going, friendly and sweet would be ideal. They haven’t been around cats but are unfazed by the rabbits and birds that surround them on the beach. They ride great in the car and hope you'll stop for a puppoccino. Get your sneakers on cause these two make amazing walking buddies and love to be on stimulating, adventurous walks while continuing with their leash training.

We are seeking a very loving, affectionate, attentive home that is familiar with the breed mix, experienced adopters (not first time dog adopters) and must be experienced with small dogs. Your home should be easy going, routine, calm, semi-active, home at least part-time with no small busy children. They’ve spent so long alone and really love to be with their person(s) on a warm lap. A home
that will include them as part of the family and provide them with unconditional love for the rest of their days.
