Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucky was given away by her former owner on Craigslist but later ended up at the shelter on January 8th. She was so sad and despondent. She was in pretty bad shape when she arrived and they estimated her to be about 9 yrs on intake, but as time went on it was totally obvious she was more like 5-7 yrs old.
The shelter staff just loved Lucky and they had her spayed in hopes that someone would adopt her. But it wasn't to be. The shelter is located in a economically depressed area east of Los Angeles which does not adopt out older dogs nor many black dogs. Lucky hit the jackpot when she was selected to be transported with several other animals to rescues in Washington and Oregon through at transfer program on March 15th.
She is now happy and loving life again in her foster home in Western WA where she has been great with the other dogs both large and small, and all people. Lucky really enjoys laying on the deck sunbathing and exploring the yard. She is loving the Pacific Northwest climate and would be thrilled to be your daily walking partner. She is very treat motivated and is eager to shake paws and will sit. She sleeps in her crate at night. lucky loves water and playing in the kiddy pool at her foster home. She weighs approx. 75 lbs. She is fairly active, medium energy dog. Lucky is very affectionate and sweet.
Lucky is house trained, she is OK in a crate but she is a bit of an escape artist (she knows how to open the latches) so we recommend a secure lock on the crate or no crate at all. She does still pull a bit on the leash and would benefit with some basic training, nothing behavioral just basic manners.
She is up to date with vaccines, microchipped, spayed, heartworm negative and recently had a bath! Lucky would be so happy to find a forever family asap.
Her adoption fee is 300
