Isn't Tucker adorable? You should see him in person! He is one handsome guy! Tyson's Place Animal Rescue helps terminally ill people with finding new families for their pets. Tucker, and his spit fire energetic sister, Abby, came to us after his owner passed away. The family temporarily took the two poodles into their home and then reached out to us to help them find a great place for them. Our preference is to adopt Tucker and Abby together, as Tucker gains his confidence from Abby. He is a bit more shy and reserved and gets scared with new situations. He likes being held and reassured when he goes to scary places, such as the vet.
Both dogs are housebroken, walk well on a leash, and have lived with big and small dogs and cats without any issues. They also have lived with older kids and would do good with children that are gentle with them. Both enjoy being carried and sit in laps. Tucker also enjoys watching his sister Abby race around and play with toys - he enjoys the sidelines. Because Tucker is 13 years old, he needs to go out to go potty a little more often than a younger dog, so a person who is home most of the time would be great. They also enjoy lots of attention, so if you are retired or work from home, they would be great for you.
Tucker does require over the counter joint supplements for his arthritis and the occasional prescription pain pill when his back flares up. Due to this, he cannot go up and down the stairs or jump off furniture. Ramps would be a great way to allow him to go up on the bed or the couch safely. He also enjoys being picked up and carried :)
Both dogs are fixed, current on vaccinations, microchipped, blood work, had dental cleanings, and microchipped. If you are interested, please fill out an application, available at tysonsplacerescue.org or email tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com
