"Hello. My name is Zuri. I hear that it means "lovely," and I think it is a fitting name! Don't you? I love meeting new people, and so far, I have not met a stranger and bond to a new person quickly. I love cuddles and sleeping with my head on someone's pillow. With proper introductions, I do well with other dogs and am content to ignore kitties unless they show interest in me in which case I just sniff and lick them. I am not sure what these toy things are yet, but maybe I will learn to like them given time considering some of the other dogs play with them. I do love chew bones, so those keep me busy when the others play.
My foster mom is teaching me about basic obedience and is also showing me that crate training is okay in case my new family uses crates. Let's face it though. Furniture is better, and really, I do not even need to be crated. I am house trained and alert when I need to go out by running to the back door. While I do not do well on leash at the moment, I am not a puller and will learn proper leash skills given time. With that said though, I thoroughly enjoy playing outside in a fenced yard as well.
If you think I may be a good fit for your home, please keep in mind that it is not ideal for me to go to a home with children under the age of 7. I am quite muscular, and when I jump up while people are standing, I have been known to land hard which could potentially scare little people or cause them to fall.
