My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Toby is a 5-7 year old possibly Bichon/Shih Tzu mix with the cutest under bite ever. At his age, he has lots of years left to give love and companionship. We’ve found that if you sit quietly on the floor, he’ll climb up into your lap for a cuddle.

Toby was found wandering the streets several years ago and was never claimed. He’s been on foster ever since he came into the shelter—due to health reasons, his foster mom is no longer able to care for him. He loves to sleep in bed with you and cuddle—he’s very affectionate! Sometimes he takes a while to warm up to you—he likes to check you out first, then he warms up quickly if all is good. Although Toby gets along well with other dogs (and cats too), he does like to be the center of attention and might prefer to be the only dog in the house.

When outside, he can become aggressive to other dogs, so he should always be on a leash. He’s very protective of his owner.

Toby has his “spring” haircut now, but his hair grows back curly. He will require regular grooming visits.
