Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet, kind, gentle Sadie. She was done wrong by her original owners, and left with a growing mass that the veterinarians suspect was growing for about 4 years.
She was found as a stray in Quebec and never claimed at a high kill shelter, so we knew we had to save this girl as her time was up.
She's suspected to be 6-8 years old. She's a short dog, but bulky, which is what brings her weight in around the 55-pound mark.
She was whisked into surgery on March 1 and had a massive 8-pound tumour removed. We are still waiting on the biopsy results (as of today - March 4) but Sadie had an ultrasound, xrays, and bloodwork and everything else with her looks super healthy, so we suspect this was nothing but a fatty lipoma that was allowed to grow to gross proportions.
Sadie is doing amazing in recovery with her foster and is super kind and polite! She LOVES LOVES LOVES being outside and wants to go for walks EVERY single chance she can, even in the cold. On those walks, she wants all the attention from anyone that crosses her path; person or pet. She's still recovery from a major surgery, so her foster mom is making her go super slow, but Sadie is feeling SO relieved having that mass gone, that she just wants to take on the world now.
Her foster mom says:
She is honestly perfect. Smart, obedient, knows commands, walks well on leash, amazing with other dogs and people, house trained, quiet.... I can’t really name one fault. Sadie also likes the ball and can fetch. She loves playing. She'll also drops on command and is learning all sorts of basic commands so quickly.
Are you Sadie's person?
