Here's what the humans have to say about me:
She's 6 years old, 45 pounds, with a spectacular winter white coat and piercing blue eyes ... and yet nobody wants to adopt her because she's sadly, very misunderstood.
Mary was left in boarding and never picked up by her family in 2017. She's now been in foster care for 1 year and though her foster family is hopelessly in love with her, they can no longer continue fostering as they are moving.
How is Mary misunderstood? Mary does not do well with meet and greets. You see, she's incredibly shy with strangers, and considering every meet and greet is with someone she's never met before, she will shy away or give a little growl and humans take offense and choose not to adopt her. So, she waits, and waits and waits for a family to call her own, and it seems they never come.
Mary is loyal and loves hard. Transitioning to another home is going to be a challenge for her once again, but we will include in the adoption fee a training session with our trainer to help set her up for success. We are looking for someone that is 100% all in for this dog. Her next stop needs to be her furever stop.
Mary's foster family has been working on commands like "touch" where she puts her nose on your hand, and sits. She has taken to those very well and has learned them quickly. Mary is extremely smart and eager to learn, and all she wants to do is please her people.
Also awesome about Mary is that she also loves to nap on the couch next to her human. So if you're looking for someone to snuggle with, she's your gal!
Mary loves to be walked, go on adventures, and be active outside (when not snuggling with you on the couch), so we're really hoping to find her an active human that isn't afraid of some year-round outdoor adventures.
Like all huskies, Mary does shed a fair amount so you have to be willing to keep her coat brushed and healthy (and she LOVES LOVES LOVE being brushed)
Mary isn't a fan of cats, but does really well with other dogs her size,
If you're reading Mary's profile, we're still accepting applications on her. To learn more about the adoption process or complete an application, you can follow this link: https://goo.gl/forms/pvehR8ob7cGi8Fes1
