My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Asher 80 Lb Golden/Shepard or Lab mix- UTD, Neutered, Chipped
* everyone that meets him falls in love.
Attributes:
• Excellent crate trained, actually prefers his crate.
• Excellent car rider.
• Great indoor manners. ** good snuggler. Thinks he’s a lap dog.
• Excellent outdoor dog.
• Knows Commands: Sit, Stay, Down, Shake ** responds perfectly to his name and verbal commands. We keep him off leash mostly and he is a very well behaved boy.
• Loves companion dogs, and friendly to meeting all new dogs.
• Kid friendly was staying w/ 7 yr old.
• Low shedding, easy to groom.
• Extremely affectionate, likes being with his people. Will stay by your side! (A tad clingy)
• Low to no barking.
• Good eating, toy, and sharing manners.
• Housebroken, but was use to a doggie door, so some refining in that area may be needed. He was a master of the doggie door and had no accidents. If strongly corrected or thinks he is in trouble he will release a little bit of ‘scared pee.’ But that is rare and just related to immaturity.
• Walks on leash, but pulls hard at first.
• VERY trainable- responded to some short term professional training immediately.
• Loves hiking, playing, being outside or inside, car rides, swimming ( very athletic ). Can be full blast energy or sit quietly at your feet…nice balance actually.
• Needs an active family who desires an active dog to include in their daily lives.
Areas to Refine
• He has ‘puppy manners’ when excited, upon meeting/seeing his people, or knowing he’s going outside etc… he will jump on you. Doesn’t jump on strangers- only people he knows. His is big so his jumping is of concern for anyone elderly, or small. This behavior needs to be corrected.
• He needs consistency, to refine his manners.
• He can be mischievous when board or full of energy. I.e. He might find something to chew. He can unlock doors, or gates, took himself for a walk, and came back.
• He has lots of energy, and although he will still at your feet for hours, he needs exercise and attention from his people.
• He likes his companion animals and sometimes wants to play too much.
• He likes water, and his last home had a septic spray system…when the sprinklers came on he played in the septic water, and broke the spray heads.
• At first he seems to not be interested in cats, but later began chasing a cat, so maybe best to say No cats. ALL other livestock he loves.
