My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jimson was brought to the BUNgalow after being rescued from a trailer park, where someone had decided to have a colony of rabbits...roam free around the neighborhood. As you can expect, this was a terrible idea - of the entire colony, only Nickolas and Jimson were left to be rescued. We can only imagine that the winter temperatures, minimal nutritional food (if there was any to be found at all!), lack of clean water, not to mention the possible predators made it impossible for these bunnies to survive.

Jimson was adopted in mid-2019, but she was returned through no fault of her own after a few months. She's a bigger bun, but she is calm and she has learned to walk on halter and leash while she was away! Born around January, 2018.

After three weeks with our adoption coordinator to help build her confidence, he has the following to say about our big girl:

Jimson is very shy. She will not trust easily. But, she loves to be in the same room as her people. She has immaculate litter habbits. She was able to be free roam at the foster home.

In 3 weeks she made a little progress each day. For example, at first she would only allow you to get within 6 feet before needing to relocate further away from you. By the end of 3 weeks, she was down to 3 feet. Also, she improved to the point where she would accept treats from your hand. I do believe in the right hands she may one day get to the point where she will no longer need this personal space and accept petting. Make no mistake, this is a several month long project.

If she is cornered, like in a carrier, and cant get away, she will allow you to pet her. She is not aggressive, she would never hurt a flea, even when cornered. Jimson is a large rabbit. But, that just provides more to love.

BunnyPeople's policy is to only adopt within a 60 mile radius of our shelter in Harrisburg, PA.
