Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Valentine, named because she was on the last call euthanization list at a high kill shelter. We rescued her on a very cold and stormy Valentine’s Day. It was the only way we would be assured her safety even with a rescue hold in place.
Ms. Valentine was very unhappy at the shelter. It was cold and scary and she spent most of her days hiding and shaking in the corner refusing to let anyone near her.
Arriving at her new home was a bit scary. She wasn’t used to dogs or people treating her with kindness. She hid in her crate the first night and slowly came out. The next morning she reluctantly ate some food from her foster mom's hands. She still was not thrilled with her canine brothers and sister and despised the rabbit.
Little Ms. Valentine has become our shadow loving hugs and kisses. She is slowly accepting the other animals but may be happiest being an only child.
We took her to get spayed the other day and she was very upset surely thinking that she was being returned to that horrid shelter. Once home she refused to speak to me for an entire day. She definitely has separation anxiety and is happiest when her human(s) are home. So an ideal situation would be someone who is home most of the day.
She does not like leashes and is very adamant about getting her way. She also has decided that she does not like her crate and has claimed my bed. She still has some issues that we’ve been working on. However, she needs to be with someone who is experienced with a temperamental Chihuahua and has strong discipline skills (or who doesn’t mind being controlled by an 8 lb dog).
She is an adorable little girl who is so thankful that her life was saved. Now she just wants her permanent forever home with humans who will love her no matter what.
Valentine's adoption fee is $200. Please fill out an application to be considered for adoption of this temperamental little Chi Pin. http://www.mominpinrescue.org/p/adoption-application_30.html
