Here's what the humans have to say about me:
JAKE is a 4-year-old neutered male yellow lab/jack russell terrier mix. Jake weighs 30 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 13 and up.
DESCRIPTION Good morning everyone. My name is Jake and as you see I'm what my foster mom calls a Jackador. I've been in Lynchburg for a bit working on not being large (um I'm not that big) and in charge. Foster Mom says I have a take charge attitude and I needed to learn how to let my humans be the lead. I have to admit I resisted this a bit and tried to have my way but that didn't work here. So now I'm just a cuddle buddy who loves to sleep on a dog bed or crawl up into your lap. I've even met the cat! No problems there....especially when I found her food dish! Yep, I love my food. I've put on a few much needed pounds here and I feel great! I can sit for snacks and I love running around the backyard and playing with toys. I play well with other dogs too but sometimes I try to take charge. Reese, who's 90#, lets me know when I take it too far. Talk about large and in charge!!! I don't mess with Star either. It's something about that senior look that let me know that I didn't want to go there. Belle, the beagle, didn't take it either. Dang that girl has some spunk and put me in my place. Now Trudy and I run and play. She can run fast but I try to keep up with her. We both come inside exhausted! I'm a really sweet guy unless you try to take something I REALLY want (example: a paper towel that has bacon grease on it). I wanted it so badly and I attempted to let my Foster Dad know. He was not impressed and my butt was put outside to think about what I did. Foster Mom said my eyes got really big and it looked like they were going to pop out of my head. Yep, I was startled by FD's reaction! Foster Mom wants everyone to know that I am going to need an adopter that will set really good boundaries with me and accept that I am going to push the limits. She's says I'm just too cute and sweet and I know how to use it!!!
Update: Jake the Jackador: Hi everyone! Just checking in from Lynchburg. I'm doing great and I've really settled in and I'm pretty relaxed. Foster Mom and Dad have started leaving me out of the crate during the day when they leave. Basically I just sleep on these dog beds and don't mess with anything. I'm a good boy! On that note, don't forget I'm available for adoption. I'm 4 years old and around 30 pounds. I'm good with dogs and cats. I'm approved for children 13 and above at this time because I'm still learning to let my humans be in charge. I'm told that is a trait of my jack side. I love attention and I will show you my belly for all types of love!!! Sometimes you can see my nubbins tail just wag up a storm. I also love to cuddle with you on the bed.
