Everyone say Hello to Mr.Jackson a fully vetted 2 year old 55 lb Aussie. He is being fostered in Northern IL.
Jackson is a big friendly lover❤️ he loves his family and loves kids! I would personally recommend a home with kids for him that just love to be licked And cuddled with. Who doesn’t love them some Aussie kisses? He is bigger so on his behalf I can say he does try hard to not knock over toddlers but sometimes he gets excited but he does his best he would never jump or push his way through, accidents happen I just want everyone to understand when adopting.
He is a handsome dog and has great manners! He likes to curl up next to you loves his belly rubbed. He will use his nose and try to get you to continue rubbing if you stop. He knows basic commands sit, shake, down-lay down. He knows his name “Jackson.” He also loves his toys and bones... this is important to him. He does fine with other dogs. He does try to be the most important and will keep trying to get your attention and follow you! He will chase cats but is good with them. He just wants to play. He does good with going into a kennel no stress to him, but with warning when you let him out I usually let him run a bit to burn that energy because he will jump with excitement to see you! He also does well going into a cage at night and is trained. I usually put a chew bone and toy with him. One thing my kids love which some may not is he will jump up but gently jump with big hug to greet you! He is so cautious and careful tho. He does not like animals such as rabbits 🐇 he will chase and .... and he also will chase 🐓 chickens...Jackson does do fine with most livestock no herding for cows or pigs or goats he minds his own business and currently on a hobby farm so he is familiar daily with them. He just does his own thing..... Jackson has some great potential and so much to offer to a family looking for that dog that will just love on them! We are continuing to work with him on house potty manners he has only had couple accidents and one was in the same spot as another and I think just with adjusting and all! He should have a big fenced yard to run and play!
The only thing he could really use more time with if you plan on walking him he needs lots more time on leash training... he’s tends to pull quite a bit! I will post some pictures of him with my family to show how much children are his favorite and if any questions please ask!
