My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mojo definitely has a bit of mojo (or at least he believes he does). He is young, spunky, and quite adorable.

When we first took in Mojo he was wearing one huge coat of matted hair. It was hard to even feel his legs or feet through all of the mattes. The other dogs in his foster home really didn't think he was a dog because he smelled so bad. That has all been taken care of now, and though he had to have most of his hair shaved off, he is quite cute. His owners were the ones that left him at the shelter and according to them he is a Yorkie and Poodle mix - we and the groomers have no reason to believe otherwise.

From what we know, Mojo came from a home where he was left outside all the time. For some reason he is not fond of men as if he doesn't trust them. With time and persistence he learns to be okay with them and, who knows, he may seek them out eventually. Until then, we know for sure he loves and trusts women.

Mojo gets along great with other dogs, even the larger ones when introduced properly. He is fine with cats and likes children. We do ask that any children in the home be respectful of all dogs. He learned to like his crate right away and does pretty well on a leash too.

If you could use a little mojo in your life then Mojo may just be the dog for you. Please read on or go directly to the adoption process page of our website, throwmeabonedogrescue.org, to find out how to apply.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
