Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We absolutely adore this big, sweet, squishy girl and would gladly become a foster failure once again but challenges in our own lives are too much right now. Sweet Charity really deserves her very own home. As sweet and cuddly as Charity is when she get to know you she REALLY,REALLY needs a very patient and dog savvy person/family to help her acclimate to their home. Charity had a loving home with other dogs, cats, birds and even a pet raccoon. But her person had an aneurysm and their lives drastically changed and the little family needed a place to go. Charity and her 2 little dog brothers came to us, they were adopted after a time, as was she. Charity's new family loved her dearly but she became overprotective of her home and people. She got to the point that she did not allow the grandkids to visit even. So, she is going to need an adult household(sorry no kids!) and a home that will understand she is not going to trust you right away, it will come slowly. She is NOT a dog for first time dog "owners." She has never bitten as far as we know and has not even tried, but she sure can put on a good show-lol-lots of grumbling. She is easily won over with good treats and a nice walk. Charity has a big heart, I mean in a good way, she is so loving and sweet and loyal. The right person will be able to take their time with her, let her feel comfortable first and then be ok with sloppy kisses and big clumsy snuggles!! In her foster home she is not so territorial and may do very well in a very assertive home where she does not feel the need to take charge and be protective. There is a big sweet cuddle bug in this rough exterior, if you have the time to give her a chance. Charity's adoption fee is $175. Please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.
