Introducing Louie! Louie is a 9 year old Maltese mix who weighs 9.7 lbs and came to us because his owners could no longer care for him.

He gets along with the other dogs and cats and is a sweetheart with people. He can initially be shy with new people and in new circumstances, but he warms up quickly. His foster mom says he doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He came to us with a pretty bad skin infection, which our vet believes may have been from unaddressed allergies. We have had him on oral antibiotics and he has had a series of medicated baths and his skin is looking great. We haven't seen any issues with allergies while in our care, but the previous owners thought he had a mold allergy. Louie just had a full dental and he is in great health, although he doesn't have many teeth left. That doesn't stop him from eating, though! Louie's adoption donation of $250 goes towards the cost of his medical care.
