Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please welcome Hubert to Paws and People Rescue!!! Hubert (aka Huey) is a shih tzu poodle mix about 5 years old roughly 15lbs. He has been through a lot already in his life. Mostly being passed around from place to place. His tribulation started with the unfortunate passing away of his owner which led to him being abandoned at a shelter. This has caused him a lot of anxiety! He tries to find comfort in the people he has learned to trust. He becomes agitated with the separation of this comfort and reacts the only way he knows how; with his mouth. Some of the bites have been moderately severe while others have been very minor. He is currently undergoing a behavior modification program to help him deal with his anxieties in other ways. He is doing great in his training. However, there will always be a bite risk. Therefore he will not be a good fit for a home where children live or vist often. He is doing great with house training and loves his crate. He is a very well behaved boy as he doesn't inappropriately chew or get into garbage etc. He loves to cuddle! He would benefit from a more active lifestyle to give him somewhere to put his energy and curb any anxiety. He will need a knowledge person who has dealt with aggressive dogs as well as patience to help him continue to become the great little guy he truly wants to be. He gets a long with most dogs but tends to avoid them. He doesn't like higher energy dogs as they trigger his anxiety. He is not good with cats and will adamantly chase them.
He has been neutered, microchiped and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $200. While he will not be able to go home with anyone until after he has finished his behavior modification program we are accepting applications.
