If you're looking for a mellow, easy-going little companion that you can take almost anywhere with you, Pa Pi is the fellow for you. With the self-confidence typical of chis but without the yappiness or hyperness, Pa Pi gets along with everyone, man, woman, child, little dog, big dog, and even cat. He's also housetrained!
Pa Pi was saved by a dog lover who saw that he was about to be surrendered to an animal shelter. His elderly owners had passed away and their remaining family did not want him.
Despite the many changes in his circumstances, Pa Pi accepts everything with calm stride. He braces himself just the slightest bit when somebody comes at him too quickly (he's a tiny little guy after all, so perhaps a home without small, rambunctious children would be best), but otherwise has no problem being carried and handled. He's even undaunted by the vacuum cleaner!
Pa Pi seems to have been very loved and well-socialized in his previous home. He loves to sit on the couch beside you. He rides great in the car and enjoys looking out the window. Sometimes he'll try to sneak his way onto your lap but isn't demanding about it. He walks well on leash until he sees something he must get to and then he is very insistent about it.
Pa Pi was estimated at about 7 years young. He came to us as a humpty dumpty of a fellow but has already started to lose weight. He's currently about 9 lbs now. He is neutered, microchipped, current on shots and flea preventative. The vet noticed a slight heart murmur during his neutering but said it was not serious and does not appear to affect Pa Pi in any way right now--just something that his new owner should be aware of.
Pa Pi would do well in most situations as long as there is a human for him to hang out with. We were told he barks when left alone but have not experienced this in his current foster home (where all the human members go to work full time), so this may have been an acquired habit at his previous residence. Pa Pi is in fact generally quiet and would even do quite well being brought along to work.
PA PI IS CURRENTLY BEING FOSTERED IN SACRAMENTO. If you are interested in adopting Pa Pi, please email your completed Adoption Application. There is a $200 tax-deductible adoption fee, which will be held in trust for Pa Pi and refunded to you as any future medical costs are incurred. A homecheck will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them.
A mellow but loving dog, Pa Pi would be the ideal companion for anyone just wanting an easy-going buddy to share life's little enjoyments with.
