Arrival Story: We found this sweet girl at Animal Control where she was taken in as a stray.

Approximate Age/Weight: 2.5 years old / 17.5 lbs.

Personality: Cute as a button and bouncy, too, Valerie will charm her way into your heart instantly as she pretty much likes everybody! She arrived at Animal Control with a rubber band wrapped around the tip of her tail. There was just too much damage to the tail and our vet had to amputate the tip. Valerie was a champ through the whole thing! You won’t even notice once her hair grows back.

Valerie is a snuggler, loves laps, blankies, chew toys, and your warm bed. She will sleep through the night and energy-wise is pretty chill though she likes to play with other dogs and usually initiates play sessions. Val isn’t intimated by big dogs, as she lives with a 60lb bulldog in her foster home and gets along great. She likes cats, too, but generally leaves them alone. She won’t pass up an opportunity to chase a squirrel, though.

Val is very food motivated and wants to please. It doesn’t appear as if she was taught basic commands or basic things dogs know about living with humans but she has picked things up pretty quickly in her foster home. We bet she’d love to go to class to learn more.

Forever Home: Valerie would fit into many home situations. She is very affectionate and loves walks for sniffing (important for her Beagle nose).
