Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Parker is a 9-year-old neutered male chocolate lab. Parker weighs 65 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 6 and up.
Parker has great house manners, but loves to find the most comfortable spots to sleep (the couches and beds). He is very easy going, and highly food motivated. He hangs around the kitchen waiting to clean up anything that hits the floor. He pulls a bit on leash when he finds a smell he loves, but is very easily brought back to focus with a treat. He's medium energy-level, requiring two walks and/or indoor or fenced-in yard play each day.
Foster mom reports, Parker is very easy-going, and has adapted very well to the bustle of the household with three young boys, and young female dog. Parker was a big ball of affection from day one, and is so tranquil and easy-going. Foster hasn't heard him bark yet, but he ambles along behind foster mom from one room to the other, and has the funniest way of lying on the floor with his front paws splayed out like chicken legs. He sleeps through the night through without a crate, and is a real joy to have around.
Parker is very affectionate and loves being with his family. He likes to swim and chase balls and toys. He is food motivated, loves to give paw and most importantly, has an adorable little smile. Parker used to live in a townhome, so he is townhome approved!
Parker and Peyton came to us together. But they have since decided they are happier with others and have gotten a no-fault divorce.
UPDATE: Parker continues to feel more comfortable in his new world and has discovered that there is a pond at his foster home and a pool (that is covered and oh that makes him crazy). He was a little unsettled at first and was a bit nervous around the bonded pair in his foster home, but they have told him it's okay and he is settling in and loving life. Parker is really attentive and listens and is always in tune with his humans. He loves food and will eat anything, including cucumbers, apples, broccoli, and bananas. He is great on walks (loves them) and in the right setting is perfect off-leash. He has a lot of energy for a 9-year-old and is really fit. He will be tons of fun in an active household. He jumps into the car without thinking about it and is ready to go on an adventure with you!
Parker went on a 3-mile hike with his foster family yesterday and was not tired. His foster mom laughed at how he was sitting but he was a little too lazy to get all of his legs on one step. He likes sitting up high and looking down at my new friends Teddy and Molly, sniffing the air, and listening to the birds. Parker is 9, but has the energy and fitness of a 3-year-old. He is very well behaved and does what he is told (most all of the time). He will eat anything and especially likes apples, cucumbers, and watermelons as snacks.
