Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sophie is one lucky dog to be alive. Here is her story...
This special little girl is one lucky dog to be alive! I think I have the story pretty close to correct. She was caught after several days of hard work trying to convince her to come to safety. There were about three people involved in trying to help her to safety. She was originally hanging out with 4-5 other dogs along a levee in Stockton. It's a place that a lot of people just dump their unwanted dogs. The other dogs were eaten by coyotes and the rescuers found this little girl almost covered with water in the levee. Her tummy is a little bit red probably from the elements of being outside for so long. She's been staying a couple different people for over a month and it was time to get her into a rescue. She reached out to a few others but none said they would take her. I was glad we could help her.
She's settling in very nice and she's good with other dogs. Previous foster had dogs, a cat and older kids.
The family was calling her Sophie, so we're going to keep her name. It means wisdom and skill. She had a lot of both to figure out how to survive outside for so long.
She will be going to the Vet on Thursday. She's probably between 6-8 months old. Very sweet and calm. Good on a leash. Learned a doggie door in one second. Weighs 10 pounds.
Not really sure on the breed. She sure looks like she's got some Pom in her for sure.
If you're interested in adopting her, please fill out our application at www.pokeadotsrescue.com. or you may call Sheri at 209 603-5866.
