My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our bold Claire is indeed very rare. On top of her long beautiful white fur, she has heterochromia iridis, which causes one of her eyes to be blue & one green. The odd-eyed coloring is caused when either the dominant or the white spotting gene prevents melanin (pigment) granules from reaching one eye during development. She is truly a unique beauty.

She did not however, have the greatest start in life.

Claire was impounded as evidence in to LA's West Valley animal shelter after being seized from a hoarding situation. According to Animal Services, her previous owner had 46 cats & 7 dogs in a studio apartment. We picked Claire up along with many others from West Valley shelter this past November to make room for the evacuated & displaced cats during the Malibu & Woosley fires.

We have been working with her ever since, but unsurprisingly her previous environment has made her a bit reactive. We can now pet Claire with a gloved hand, but she still needs more time to learn to fully trust people. She loves all cats and gets along with them well.

If you have the time and patience available for Claire, to allow her to adjust slowly into being a loving lap cat, she would be very grateful.

Claire is currently at a foster home in West Hollywood. Her foster mom would be happy for you to come meet her anytime.
