Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Posted 2/19/2019. Trixi, a very young 20 lb. senior pup, came to us after someone managed to talk her owner into letting her go to a new place. Trixi has lived all her life outside and only in the recent cold spell did a friend of the owner manage to talk him into giving her to someone who could keep her inside. The poor girl was quite confused initially but is learning very quickly how awesome it is to snuggle in a cozy bed and getting lots of ear and but scratches! Trixi's foster mom reports that she is your typical Beagle - very lively, energetic, inquisitive - and smart! Considering that she was never a house dog, she is learning fast! She is making great progress on the potty training and definitely wants to do her business outside! She is getting used to a crate where she can be safe whenever her humans are not home or whenever she desires to retreat to a den. Trixi LOVES her human, she follows you around and when you cook, she is right there waiting for something to hit the ground - haha! Considering her age, she is quite energetic and in very good shape! Other than some slight mobility issues which can be helped with a good diet and joint supplements, she seems just fine. Trixi loves going for walks, she likes playing with toys, she loves being with her human(s) and snoozing on a cozy bed or blanket, and yes - she snores! :) Whoever is going to take her on, will have to be patient initially as she needs a few days to get adjusted to her new surroundings. Her foster mom is also working with her on good doggie manners such as "wait" - haha! For Trixi we are looking for a home with a securely fenced in yard (once she is outside, her nose is on the ground, and if she can find a way to escape, she will) with people who can give her the right balance of exercise, play time and rest. Daily walks will help her with her mobility and will keep her happy. Trixi currently lives with other (small breed) dogs and she is doing well after an initial protective snarling over a toy. We will continue to observe her and see how she does. Trixi is current on vaccinations including Rabies, she is spayed, she tested negative for heartworm, is on heartworm/flea prevention and she is micro chipped. If you are interested in adopting Trixi please fill out an adoption application on our web site inthenest.net An application has to be filled out prior to setting up a meeting. Trixi's adoption fee is $100. No small children please.
