Chester and Moon are a striking pair of neutered male guinea pigs. Chester is a Texel who is brown, black and white. Moon is black and white with adorable black "booties" on his front feet. The boys were born in January 2018 and were deeply loved by the family who surrendered them to the Rescue. A family member's illness made it impossible for them to keep the boys in their household. The family adopted them in late Spring 2018 and nothing is known about their circumstances before the adoption event at a local pet store.
Moon is very curious and will take snacks from your hand and beg but he is still quite shy and nervous about being handled. Chester is extremely skittish although he does watch what you are doing if you are near his case. Both boys are very gentle and sweet and want to be near their humans.
Texel piggies require daily grooming and occasional baths and hair trims. Chester needs a VERY committed owner who is up to the challenge of keeping his coat looking beautiful. Because both boys are a bit difficult to handle we would like to adopt them out to a home without small children. They would thrive in a forever home with an experienced adopter who can provide lots of attention and will be patient with them while they become more relaxed.
The boys have an excellent appetite for Oxbow pellets and Timothy hay. They love to eat and they have yet to meet a veggie that they won't try! Chester and Moon need to live in a Rescue-required Cubes and Coroplast cage. NOTE: This pair will require a cage that is 2 cubes by 5 cubes or 2 cubes by 4 cubes with a loft. The cage must be located in a room the family spends time in so everyone can enjoy their company. The boys require the extras space because it helps them maintain a happy relationship!
The adoption fee for Chester and Moon is $90 (neutered male - $45/each). Are you interested in finding out more about adopting this lovable pair?
