Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chobe: 9-yr-old neutered male black Lab, 87 pounds
Background: Named “Chubby” by his previous owner, this guy was a frequent patron of the local shelter as he often escaped from his backyard. His owner finally gave up and surrendered him to the shelter.
What Chobe’s Foster says: Chobe is a sweet, smart, affectionate gentleman -- about as perfect as a lab can be. Which means he: loves walks, takes treats gently, is not a barker, greets people nicely, has great house manners, rides well in the car, walks on leash, is a quick learner, and has an "even keel" temperament. He's not a dog to go running with, but it seems like he wants to walk forever. With other dogs, Chobe approaches nicely, good body language, but he can be a bit too enthusiastic. Chobe makes this sweet low rumbling sound when you gently pet/scratch his head and ears. And belly. If you want a dog buddy to sweeten your life, this is your guy.
What Chobe’s Rescue Rep says: One big happy guy. Just wants to climb up into your lap for a belly rub. Not so keen on playing with balls or toys, he’d rather just be with his person. Chobe does need to slim down a bit, so his adopter will need to provide him with plenty of exercise and walks.
Medical Information: Chobe in current on all vax, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He could use to lose ~5 pounds. He likely has some arthritis in his front legs so he gets up gingerly.
Chobe is located in: San Jose.
If you are interested in Chobe, call, text, or email Rescue Rep Dave, 415-686-4248, david.c.ely@sbcglobal.net.
Our volunteers donate their personal time & phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
