Rich, make, 4 years old, 10.3 lbs Schnauzer/Yorkie/poodle mix, neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, heart worm negative, dewormed, been at the trainer for several months, did not like red dogs.
Look at this gorgeous face, how anyone could abandon & dump Rich is beyond us after loving him for 4 years in their home & then dumping him in a deathly kill shelter in Korea when they knew he would lose his life because Rich was born with highly likely a birth defect in one of his eyes which makes him blind in one eye. So this gave him less of a fighting chance to get out of there alive.
But thankfully when this sweet full of life & love little chap was about to lose his life the wonderful Korea rescue saved him & asked us could we take him.
Rich was rescued by the Korean rescue just in time before he was about to lose his precious life so as always we are beyond grateful to the Korean rescue & we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies.
Rich was bought back to the USA where he is now a US citizen. Straight away we could see Rich was thin so very thin & he really needed to put on weight which his foster family had been working on & he has since put on weight.
When we first got Rich to our vets & it was confirmed that it was highly likely a birth defect in one of his eyes so he is blind in one eye but it does not seem to bother him at all & he behaves & runs around as if he has site in both eyes.
We also noticed he did not like one sweet soft & gentle little red dog, he did not care for him at all but liked everyone else. We put Rich into a foster family & he did fine but then also began having problems with another sweet red dog in the foster family. It was quite quickly determined he did not like red dogs, something in Korea clearly happened to him with red dogs & so off to the amazing trainer he went where no problems with dogs until he seen a red dog. Our trainer worked with Rich for several months on his fear/dislike for red dogs & now Rich has the time of his life with red dogs & that dislike for them is gone & he is currently with a red dog. Rich is such a sweetheart of a little fellow & such a cuddle bug, he is always so very happy & loves to play with the other dogs so it mandatory he go to a home with playful dogs. Rich also enjoys wearing a great outfit & enjoys playing with his foster siblings & just adores people & always wants to be with you & picked up & cuddles & given love. He is such a lovely little soul.
This little man should not go to a home who uses crates as he absolutely does not like them at all. He does well in the car & is good on a leash & just wants to be loved. Rich has been around many breeds of dogs & he is currently fostered with foster siblings so he must go to a forever home with other dogs present in the home who are playful & fun. Rich is perhaps a Schnauzer/Yorkie/poodle mix what he is mixed with we do not know for sure, he is roughly 10.3 lbs & 4 years old, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his shots, heart worm negative, dewormed & having a dental done this week. We have so far spent well over $1000 on this sweet little man & he is looking for his forever family.Rich has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children.
We do not know for sure what breeds Rich is mixed with & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Rich’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Rich potty trained or available, we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Rich & going through the process and have read his listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Rich who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this adorable little fellow.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
Rich has an adoption fee of $755 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through. An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well.?As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. ?Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding.?WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet can be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.?Adoption Process ?All of our dogs are in foster homes, so please fill out an application on our website to meet them in person: www.aberdeenstr.com. Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a 501(c)3 recognized charity. Our volunteers dedicate all their free hours to finding the best loving home for each of our dogs.
