Here's what the humans have to say about me:
About Wiley, from his foster mom:
"Wiley...what a sweetheart! Wiley loves to be top dog, he bonds quickly with the person caring for him and really likes to have them to himself....lol... When he is on my lap or chair with me and the other animals want to sit with us he will growl at them to stay off. Here is our conversation when this happens..." Wiley, you be a good boy, we have talked about this and that is bad" several times and he will lay down and accept the fact that there is room for the others...lol.
He is a protector of his domain as far as other dogs he doesn't know, so if there is another dog in the house, introductions would need to be closely supervised until he realizes they aren't a threat. He is a bit cold-natured and loves wearing his sweaters as well as being under the blankets. He can also be a bit grumpy while under the blankets as well toward other animals but again, I have our talk for a few minutes and he settles down.
Wiley is very sweet, loving and more than willing to be a best friend and companion. He only barks when someone comes to the door or if outside noises seem too close at times. He is usually very calm and at my side whenever I'm sitting or we go to bed. He will be a loyal companion.
I had to retrain Wiley to go outside to potty and he has picked up the idea very nicely, but there are accidents at times when I'm not quick enough to get him out... he is hit and miss with the potty pads when this happens. It may take him a bit to get used to a new home and have some potty issues at first, but he has caught on very well to going outside to potty. He would need to be in a fenced in yard or and a cable to go out as he likes to wander and explore.
I am going to miss this guy, I am very pleased with his progress with the potty training. I really thought he wasn't going to learn or change, but I couldn't have been more wrong about him. When I'm gone I do keep him in a kennel just to reinforce the 'potty outside only' concept and it works. This guy is very calm and will be a great friend, companion and member of the family. He wants and gives all the love he can."
