Hopper Bio

Hopper is an 8 month old Black and Tan, Male, German Shepherd Puppy
Hopper was pulled from a Shelter in Tampa where he was owner surrendered for Severe Separation Anxiety. His original paperwork shows that he was adopted from an animal control facility in California travelled all the way to Florida to be relinquished to a Florida Shelter.
Since Hopper arrived in Rescue his original name was Zeus, however we renamed him Hopper because he didn't know his name and his favorite thing to do is Hop Jump at you when he is excited, we are working on this behavior to make it better for proper greeting introductions. Hopper has severe separation anxiety he can manage to break out of any kennel. He will need more desensitizing and training. He needs someone that can be with him and not left alone for more than a few hours. No small children he tends to nip and jump, older mature children, good with other dogs but can be very dominant and toy possessive around other toy possessive dogs and will start a fight over a toy. Not cat tested but can upon request. So as you can see this pup needs time, structure and someone that fully understands the needs of German Shepherds. Fenced in yard a must, no apartment or condo residences.

All dogs in rescue are temperament tested and have basic obedience implemented as a part of their daily routine. All behavioral issues are dealt with according to each case scenario. All dogs prior to going home are up to date on all vaccinations, spayed and or neutered. Application, home-check, and references must be approved prior to final adoption.
