Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Oakley! We rescued Oakley from a high-kill shelter in California. He was labeled rescue only because he had a horrible ear and respiratory infection. We looked past his injuries, matted and dirty fur and came up with a plan to save Oakley. He was immediately taken to our vet in California where he received medical treatment and stayed there while he recovered. He was such a friendly guy that the month he spent healing at the vet in California, he hung out in the office most days. When he was healthy enough to travel, he made the trek cross-country and arrived at the rescue. He stayed with his foster family for several months to gain some much needed weight, as he was only 47 pounds when he arrived. When he arrived here, we took him to several events and he did great. He loved everyone he met and enjoyed meeting other dogs. Oakley will match a variety of play styles. He is very affectionate, great with older kids, and loves to cuddle. This 3 to 5 year old walks well on a leash but does get excited when he sees another fur-friend and will try to pull towards them to meet them. Oakley does have separation anxiety, which can be eased by crating him with stuffed Kong. He is neutered, micro-chipped and current on vaccines.
